This year I decided to participate in the BookTube-A-Thon which takes place between 18th and 24th of July. For these 7 days you have to try to complete 7 challenges.
Here are the challenges and the books that I read through the Booktube-A-Thon:
1. Read a book with yellow on the cover – Uprooted by Naomi Novik
I had really high expectations for this book. For me it was like reading the first book from the Throne of glass series – it was good, but it wasn’t that interesting. It took me 3 days to finish it. 😀
2. Read a book only after sunset – Angelfall by Susan Ee
It’s the first book in the Penryn & the End of Days series. I couldn’t read the hole book. I only got to read 276 pages out of 354. If only I had one or two more hours before the end of the BookTube-A-Thon I would’ve been able to finish it. It’s a post-apocalyptic book and I really enjoyed reading it ^_^ !
3. Read a book you discovered through Booktube- Uprooted by Naomi Novik
Again Uprooted. Regan from PeruseProject was talking about it so I decided to give it a try.
4. Read a book by one of your favorite authors – The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages
It was about time to finally sit down and read another J.K.Rowling book. I actually read two from the Hogwarts Library cuz why not 😀 .
5. Read a book that is older than you – Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Ray Bradbury has created a world where reading books is illegal. I’m not gonna say anything else about it cuz I don’t want to spoil you :D. It’s a classic and I haven’t read much classics before. It’s time to change that.
6. Read and watch a book-to-movie adaptation – 1984 by George Orwell
Big Brother is watching you 24/7 and you can’t hide from him. This book completely blew my mind.
7. Read seven books – Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The seventh book that I read was Obsidian. It was amazing! I started reading it on the last day of the BookTube-A-Thon. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to finish it on time but I did it and I’m so proud of myself ^^. Ones you start reading it you just can’t put it down :D. If you haven’t read it you should give it a try. There really is chemistry between Katy and Damon. I ship them so bad :D. I can’t wait to start the next book and see what happens.
This is probably the first and the last time I’m taking part in the BookTube-A-Thon :(. I will be starting university soon so I will have less free time for reading books :(. It was a fun thing to do cuz I was really bored these days :D.
If you had been participating in the BookTube-A-Thon tell me what books did you read.
Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?
The reason why I love reading so much is because of my dad. He spends 70% of his spare time reading books. He has been my role model since I was little. 🙂
Where do you usually read?
I can read anywhere 😀 . Well I do most of my reading at home on the bed.
Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once?
I don’t have a problem with reading several books at once, but I prefer reading one book at a time.
What is your favorite genre?
I don’t have a favorite genre. I can read almost anything if it’s good :D.
What genre will you not read?
Politics – just no.
Do you have a favorite book?
One does not simply choose one!
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
The Heroes of Olympus
What is the worst book you’ve ever read?
You will hate me for this 😀 . I’ve thought about it for a while and I’ve decided to go with We were liars by E. Lockhart. I didn’t enjoy it. It just wasn’t what I’ve expected.
What is the biggest book you’ve ever read?
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (856 pages)
What was the last book you bought?
They were actually 3:
Stephen King’s N.
Sandkings by George R.R. Martin
The Face of the Waters by Robert Silverberg
Which do you prefer library books or buying books?
I prefer buying books that way I will be able to read them whenever I want.
What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading The Heroes of Olympus series. I just love Percy Jackson and the word that Rick Riordan has build ^_^ .
What are the disadvantages of being a book lover?
Not having enough space where I can store all the books that I own and want to buy in the near feature.
These little guys surprised me. It’s February but my grandma’s garden is full of them.
I’ll never get tired of taking pictures of flowers 😀 . It’s one of my hobbys.
If you ever get the chance to travel to Greece don’t miss it!
Every summer I travel over 356 km (6 hour drive) just to go and stay for a few week at my grandparents house at this town called Svilengrad. While I was there I took a bunch of photos. I want to share some of them with you.
“ Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
– Edgard Degas
I enjoy visiting any kind of exhibitions. It’s relaxing thing to do.
Art has a positive impact on humans. You don’t believe me?
I am going to prove it to you by pointing out some eternal truths about art:
• Art helps the brain find knowledge and even to understand itself
• It gives your thinking a break
• It provides you with new visual experiences
• It makes you feel good
• It teaches you that problems have more than one solution
• Art helps you to tell a story, remember the past and people.
• Pictures speak louder than words
• It opens people’s eyes and make them see the world differently
Still don’t have faith in me? Well then I definitely recommend you to go to some place where you could be surrounded only by art. Then I want you to reread this post again. Be honest with yourself. Did I changed your mind? Leave a comment below if I did 🙂 .
Here are some pictures I took from one of the latest exhibitions in Tutrakan.
One of the biggest attractions of the year in my town is Danube in Flames. The festival primary aim is to promote Tutrakan as an attractive tourist destination and to attract foreign visitors.
Within the five-day festival groups in the region and visiting groups presented local traditions and culture. A lot of competitions were organized.
Music, dances, friends, surprises, local cuisine and magnificent sunsets what else do you need?
